RECALL VISITS
A recall visit consists of a maintenance appointment. At Sanctuary Lakes Family Dental, this appointment will involve complete examination of your teeth, gums, bone and soft tissues which is important to detect oral cancers. Routine Xrays may also be taken at regular intervals (usually 2 years unless patient is high risk) to detect any initial cavities that cannot be detected clinically, for example between teeth. A scale and clean and polish will also be done at this appointment, followed by fluoride treatment as per individual requirements.
Recall visits are highly recommended every 6 months in our practice for lowrisk patients. Patients who fall in the highrisk category will require more frequent recall visits, which is usually every 3 months and will be determined at the initial checkup and recall appointments.
